"Our daily duties"

Last night for FHE Jared got out the dry erase board and gave a lesson on duties. He first asked the kids what Mom & Dad's duties were on a daily basis. They started listing them as Jared quickly wrote them down. Then he asked what Dallin, Zach & Ellie's duties were and they listed as many as they could think of. He showed the children the list and asked how many duties they had compared to Mom & Dad's list. They were shocked at how much parents have to do. One of them said,"I'm so glad I'm just a kid." Ha, Ha! He asked them if there were some things they could take on so Mommy & Daddy wouldn't have such a long list? They all agreed to help out more and picked things to lighten our load. The lesson was effective just as we were hoping.

Today as I went to put the dry erase board away I thought it would be fun to save "our daily duties" to read again down the road. I thought to myself how these duties will change over the years and how our list may shorten as the kids list will grow.
