This week's ups & downs

1. Ellie now has a blog. She checks it everyday and looks at her friends/cousins blogs. Oh no, look what I've started! Check it out at http://www.ellieeverton.blogspot.com/

2. This week Jared is a guest speaker down at the ASU Law school for the J. Ruben Clark Society. He has been asked to speak on how to balance Family/church callings/and a busy law practice. I think he will do a great job.
3. Zachary's prayers are too adorable to not share. Here are a couple of things he said tonight in his prayer... "Please bless that I won't get a yellow. please bless it. Please bless that Mommy will turn the alarm on so no robbers will come in our house. please bless it. Please bless that mommy will watch Audrey. please bless it. Please bless that Dallin won't get a double red or get his name on the board. please bless it. Please bless that Daddy can make a lot of money. please bless it." It's so cute to hear what a 6 year old worries or thinks to pray about. I love how he says "please bless it" after each sentence. He is my sweet heart!
4. My Aunt Jody's mother has been in congestive heart failure for years and hasn't been doing very well lately. We are so sad and heart broken to hear that she passed away this morning. Living down the street from Eric and Jody, we have gotten to be really close with Jody's parents when they come to visit from Idaho. Jody's parents have always been so sweet to our kids and have loved them almost like their own grand kids. She was an amazing lady, we will truly miss her. My parents are driving to Idaho Falls to attend her funeral this weekend, and I'm hoping to go with them.
5. Lisa (my sister) & Craig (her husband) went and saw a home on Friday and loved it so much they signed the papers on Saturday. They've been in the process of building a home right by us but then found this home that they couldn't pass up. It's beautiful inside and they are really excited! They will be moving in next month.
6. Audrey is saying a lot of words now. Whenever she hears the word "prayer" she quickly folds her arms. She is a pack rat...always carrying a purse with too many items. If I'm not careful in a matter of 10 minutes the house can be a disaster with Audrey on the loose.
7. Ellie is going through a "stage"...to say it nicely. We were out to breakfast for Sarah's birthday and I asked Ellie how she liked her pancakes. She pushed the plate away and said, "Discussing"! Wow, I wasn't expecting that! She also called me a mean, old mommy the other day...ouch!!! That hits too close to home after turning 30 this year! I've been worrying and thinking, what have I been doing wrong? I was a little concerned until I talked to my sister Jan who said both of her girls had a lot of attitude at this age too. I just hope I can live through this "stage"...and I pray it passes quickly!!!
8. Dallin got the lead role in the upcoming kids chorale play. He is going to be "Elfis". It's actually Elvis who is a Elf. My mom is making his costume and he will use it for Halloween too. He is way into the whole Elvis thing and watches clips of Elvis on the Internet. He's getting to know all of Elvis's moves...it's pretty funny to watch.
9. My handsome/single brother Jared (age 24) just purchased his very first home. He now lives only 2 miles away from me and is in my stake. It's so fun to finally have one of my family members move to Gilbert!
10. We have no more puppies left...Hooray!

Love hearing what is going on in your life Jilly. You are so awesome and I just wish we lived close. I am so sorry about Jody's mom too. Hope you can come up for the funeral...it would be good to see you. LOVE Zachey's prayers! That is soooo funny and you will always remember that now that you wrote it down. I love that he blesses he won't get a yellow and Dallin won't get a double red. I guess Dallin is more mischevious! Hilarious.

Hey Jill. I feel like writing a post about ups and downs weekly. Ha ha! Taking 4 accounting classes my last semester of Hawaii is NOT fun. I have no social life and have been to the beach ONCE in a month. Lame. Your kids are so stinking cute, I can't get over it. That's too bad about Sister Peterson's Mom. I hope you get to go to the funeral.

I talked to Jared today. I'm so excited for him!! I can't believe he bought a house! That's my goal for next summer. We'll see what happens.

I love children's prayers. Avery prays for no yellow lights too. It is funny what they worry about at this age. The twins now fold their arms too for prayer. It is so sweet when they do that.

I love the prayer! I tried to go and see you at grandma's but you were in Rexburg. I feel so bad about Jody's mom. So sweet of you to support her. We will come see you when we get back.
