Happy Mother's Day!... oh wait I mean... Back to School!

Ist day of school (Dallin 3rd grade) (Zachary 1st)

Probably most mothers will look down on this...but (how do I say this)...the 1st day of school is complete bliss for me not a tragedy. Kind of like a load has been lifted. The kids finally won't be bored and ask very 5 minutes..."what should I do?" There will be no more tattle telling, whining, teasing, negotiating, video game playing, or TV watching going on around here. Of course its not always that unpleasant, but the kids were definitely ready for school to start. The boys started on Wednesday and Ellie's first day of Pre-K was today. She was sooo excited except to wear tennis shoes (Ellie thinks tennis shoes are horrendous!!!) The boys 1st day yesterday went great! They like their teachers and that's about all I got out of them. I asked many questions like...who did you sit by at lunch or the on the bus, or what are some things that your teacher taught you or said? Usually they responded with a one word answer. Hopefully Ellie is more talkative when she gets home today. Anyways...Happy Mother's Day to all those mothers who enjoy the 1st day of school as much as I do.

Happy Mother's Day to you!...isn't that the truth??? You get so excited for summer to come and do fun things with your kids, and then August hits and you are more than excited to send them back. Your boys look soooo cool in their trendy clothes and backpacks, and Zach does "Rule" like his shirt says. Ellie, I am with you girl. Tennis shoes should only be use to run in. I feel your flip flop agony. But at least you look cute and have a super stylish mom to dress you. I remember wearing puffy paint shirts I decorated for my first day back to school...gross!

I hope I can enjoy the first day that much next year... I worry too much! But it has been a lot more peaceful around here with 2 at home. Your kids are so cute and they just look like GOOD kids...the kind of kids mine should be friends with :)

Jill, you crack me up!! I feel exactly the same way, except my Ellie doesn't go to class until September. I guess my Mother's Day doesn't really come until next year. CAN'T WAIT!!!

That made me laugh. My boys also give me the same response when asked about school, not much of anything. Although they are more than happy to tell me what they didn't like about the lunch I packed.

Oh your kids looked so cute for their first day of school. I bet your house is so quiet, with 3 of them gone. Connor and Sadie went today and I couldn't believe I could hear myself think!! As soon as we can take Sophie out of the house we are going to come and see you guys.

I have to say that having a schedule and not hearing I'm bored every 5 minutes is great! You are not alone!
